Well it's nice to know that in the world of business occasionally people do show a sense of decency even in the midst of making millions and millions of pounds per year.

On the 3rd of June 2008, western Union announced the donation of $25,000 to Foundation Alimentando Esperanzas, a not for profit organisation based out of San Jose, Costa Rica, whom offer family support and education to families with children. This is part of it's continued support to empower communities vis education and global economic opportunities. This program is known as western Unions "Our World Our Family" Initiative whereby they promote and donate money in order to help address the needs of the world's migrant population.

Beginning in the year 2000, it was set-up in order to enable and facilitate philanthropic giving so that they can improve the lives of those who need help the most. Since 2001 the program has given in excess of $45 million to over 1,500 nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in more than 70 countries around the world to humanitarian projects. It has in addition contributed greatly to over fifty major disaster project relief funds.

Whilst being a global leader in am industry worth billions of dollars a year and still growing it is nice to know that somewhere someone along the line has got their feet remaining on the ground.
